NTUC Income agents suing union

Three insurance agents taking their union to court for not acting in their best interests will have their case heard on June 24.

The three NTUC Income agents filed a lawsuit last month against the Singapore Insurance Employees' Union (SIEU) over the latter's handling of a dispute with NTUC Income.
They claimed that SIEU and NTUC Income had strong-armed them, along with more than 600 other agents, into signing new contracts that took away some of their original benefits. SIEU officials allegedly told them that not signing would result in them losing their jobs and their licenses to sell insurance.
